The Sol Plaatje Masters Football League’s annual Easter soccer tournament wrapped up at the AR Abass Stadium on Monday. This year, over 35 teams took part in the highly-anticipated event, with teams from across the region battling it out for glory on the field.

In the end, it was Aztec Masters and Macarena Masters who faced off as the tournament finalists after a gruelling long weekend of football. The final match was an intense showdown between the two teams, with both sides putting in their best efforts to come out on top. However, it was Aztec Masters who ultimately proved too strong for their opponents, winning the game 3-1 and securing the coveted title for 2023.

It was a fitting end to the long weekend with fans, throughout the tournament, showing their unwavering support for their teams, filling the stands and cheering loudly for every goal scored. After the final whistle the Aztec Masters faithful stormed the field to congratulate their victorious team. The players were clearly overjoyed at the win, and they came together to lift the winning trophy in celebration of their hard-fought victory.

Last year’s winners, Colville Masters ended their tournament in 4th place after losing 3-2 against Double Action Milan.
