The ANC and the EFF have already thrown their weight behind the push for the Constitutional amendment.
THE DA has threatened to go to court should Parliament accede to the push for the amendment of the Constitution to pave way for expropriation of land without compensation.
This comes as Parliament’s Joint Constitutional Review Committee is concluding its land hearings in Cape Town tomorrow before it compiles and tables the final report detailing the public views on the amendment section 25.
Yesterday, DA leader Mmusi Maimane said that the official opposition would reject the outcomes of the committee if they called for the Constitution to change.
“If they bring it to parliament we will oppose it and we will make sure that we take whatever legal steps to ensure that we do what is right. When we fought for section 25 it was in 1995. We fought for it because we believe it is the best way to invest to the people,” Maimane said.
