Meet the woman reportedly at the centre of the infamous role between Proteas wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock and Australia batsman David Warner.
Candice Warner, the Aussie star’s wife, is a former triathlete, who has a dating record that includes several top sportsmen.
The 32-year-old blonde counts among her ex-boyfriends New Zealand rugby star Sonny Bill Williams. The two were once caught on film having drunken sex in a toilet cubicle in 2007.
Candice apparently also dated tennis star Marcos Baghdatis, former Western Force rugby scrumhalf Matt Henjak, rugby league’s Braith Anasta and former Manchester United soccer player Anderson, among others.
It’s believed her dating history is perhaps at the centre of a scuffle that erupted between South Africa’s cricket players and their Australian counterparts during their recent Test match in Durban.
CCTV footage surfaced on Sunday showing hubby David in a heated bekgeveg with puppy-eyed De Kock.
It was clear that Warner wanted to hit De Kock in the video. Hard.
And while it’s still unclear exactly what led to the incident, it has been reported that De Kock said something about David’s wife while the two teams were sledging each other out on the field.
Warner hasn’t commented on the incident, but Australia’s coach, Darren Lehmann, says his vice-captain has his full backing.
“We’re certainly supporting David. We want to play a way that gets us success and we’ve just got to make sure we don’t cross the line – that’s the key,” said Lehmann.
