20 injured after bus rear-ends truck in KZN

TWENTY people were left injured early this morning when the bus they were travelling in rear-ended a truck on the N2 Joyner Road in Isipingo, KwaZulu Natal.

According to ER24 communications officer, Russel Meiring, the accident happened at 00h55.

“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find both the truck and bus parked on the side of the road. Several people were found walking around on the scene while a few others were found seated inside the bus.”

Meiring said medics assessed the patients and found that 20 people had sustained minor to moderate injuries. “Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found,” he said.

Meiring added that the patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

“Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.”
