10 suspects in dock for smashing cars at exotic car dealership

The dealership came under attack two weeks ago when police said that around 30 people entered the store and damaged at least eight vehicles.

THE case against 10 suspects charged in connection with the business robbery at the Toy Shop luxury and exotic car dealership has been postponed to next Monday for a bail application.

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said the 10 suspects have been charged, not 13 as has been widely reported.

Simons Standfield, Jeffrey Pitolo, Keith September, Anzio Arnolds, Adiel Paul, Luke Pretorius, Kevin Kiddo, John Fernandez, Mogamat Stellenboom and Jonathan Peterson have been charged with two counts of robbery, attempted robbery and damage to property.

“The NPA can confirm that a group of 10 men appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court this morning.

“The case has been postponed to next Monday for a bail application,” he said.

The dealership at the North Gate Business Park in Brooklyn came under attack two weeks ago when police said that around 30 people entered the store and damaged at least eight vehicles.

The incident was captured on CCTV which went viral on social media.

It showed the suspects first entering the store and walking around before carrying out the attack.

According to reports at the time, the suspects demanded two vehicles and when they were denied, they smashed the cars’ windows.
