KIMBERLEY police are investigating an inquest after a 22-year-old man hanged himself at the back of a shack in Witdam, Galeshewe yesterday.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Majang Skalkie, said that police had received information regarding a young man who had hanged himself.

“On arrival at the crime scene, the police found the body of a man, aged 22, hanging at the back of a shack, where the deceased was staying,” said Skalkie.

According to information, the body was found by the sister of the deceased, who also lives at the house.

Family members gathered at the scene after the body was removed by forensics yesterday afternoon. When the DFA arrived at the scene, a traditional healer was seen giving a statement to the police. It is not clear whether the healer also lives at the same address.

Family members and the healer warned neighbours not to speak to the media.
