A woman was ’detained for questioning’ after an 87-year-old man was found murdered on his plot near Jan Kempdorp on Saturday.
A 46-YEAR-old woman has been detained for questioning after an 87-year-old man was found murdered on his plot near Jan Kempdorp on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said the Provincial Organised Crime Detectives were investigating an “alleged farm murder”.
“On Saturday, at approximately 8pm, the deceased, who lives alone, was discovered in his study with his hands and feet tied while he suffered wounds on his thighs,” said Kock.
He said that a family friend had contacted the police.
“At this stage, police could not confirm that a robbery took place on the premises. A 46-year-old female is currently detained for questioning.
“Anyone with information is requested to call Detective Sergeant Stefaans Mangate on 060 963 6397. The investigation continues.”
