A 29-YEAR-old woman was arrested in Kimberley by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team for possession of drugs with an estimated street value of R140,000.

Hawks spokesperson Captain Tebogo Thebe said the arrest was made after the police received information of a “delivery of dagga” from Johannesburg to Kimberley.

“The information was operationalised. The members searched an identified minibus taxi and dagga weighing 2.8kg was found in a travel bag,” said Thebe.

He added that upon interviewing the suspect, it was established that the suspect was in the country illegally.

“She was further charged with contravention of the Immigration Act.

“The drugs have been seized for further investigation.”
