THE RELEASE of matric results is a highly anticipated moment for pupils, parents, and educators across South Africa. The results mark the culmination of years of hard work and dedication, and accessing them promptly is crucial for future planning. Whether you are a matric pupil eager to see your achievements or a parent supporting your child, knowing where and how to check the results can make the process smoother and stress-free. Below are the various official platforms where matric pupils can check their results on January 14, from 6am:

1. Department of Basic Education (DBE) Website

  • Visit the official DBE website: www.education.gov.za

2. Provincial Education Department Websites

  • Some provincial departments provide online result services.
  • Check the website of your provincial education department for availability.

Note: The Northern Cape Department of Education’s official website does not provide a dedicated online platform for accessing individual matric results. Pupils in the Northern Cape are advised to utilise the national platforms provided by the DBE to access their results.

  • You will receive an SMS reply with your results once they are available.
  • SMSes are charged at R1.50 each.

4. USSD Service

  • Dial *120*35658# and follow the prompts to enter your examination number.
  • Your results will be sent to your phone.
  • USSD usage costs 50 cents per 20 seconds.

5. MatricsMate App

  • Download the MatricsMate app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  • Register by entering your ID number and examination number.
  • Access your results directly through the app.

6. At Your School or Examination Centre

  • Pupils can collect their official printed statement of results directly from their school or the examination centre where they wrote their exams.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • The matric results will officially be released on January 13, 2025. The Minister of Basic Education will announce the national results on the evening of January 13, and individual results will be available on January 14, 2025.
  • For official documentation, pupils must collect their statement of results from their school.
  • Pupils who are unsatisfied with their exam results have the option to apply for a remark or recheck of their examination scripts.

We wish all matric pupils the best of luck and encourage parents to support their children during this crucial time. Keep an eye on official education platforms and local media for any updates regarding the release of results.
