A breakdown of what to expect

THURSDAY NIGHT: Switch off Riverton, Newton and Drain the system empty (12 hours).

FRIDAY: Commence with repair works at various sites (24 hours). Resources have been lined up accordingly.

SATURDAY: Complete repairs, and recommission (12 hours).

SUNDAY: Water is restored.

SITES AND ACTIVITIES

965 Bulk Pipe line:

15 Work Sites

8 sites for leaks

7 sites for valves (scourer and air valves sets)

600 Bulk Pipe line:

13 Work Sites

3 sites for leaks

10 sites for valves (scourer and air valves sets)

TOTAL: 28 Work Sites

TEAMS: 6 contractors and 4 internal teams

SUPPLY ARRANGEMENTS

Water tanks were placed at strategic areas around the city yesterday morning.

22 water tankers will refill them continuously, per ward cluster.

There will be five tankers dedicated to funerals and hospitals.

Water points for containers will be available at:

* Newton Reservoir area (Waterworks Street),

* Up street of Reservoir Road (New park)

* Emergency Services site (Civic Centre)
