Water in the pipelines have subsided after the Interruption of water supply on Thursday night allowing the teams to continue work in the different areas.

This is according to Sol Plaatje Municipality spokesperson, Sello Matsie.

He added that two of the four leaks on the 965mm pipe along the  R31 road was repaired today.

“The teams will continue to throughout the night. As stated earlier, the focus is on replacing the air and scour valves as well as repairing some of the leaks.

“The repair on one of the major leaks, near the Roodepan turn-off, on the 600mm pipe has also commenced, with the replacement of a 600mm bend on the interlink between the two pipes,” he said.

Matsie added that the repair on the scour valve behind Sunset Manor in Roodepan has also commenced.

“Of the intended replacement of air valves on the main lines, the one behind Supermix has already been completed, and the rest of the air valves replacements will continue tomorrow (Saturday),” he said.
