Talks will be on land, food sovereignty and youth
THE SOL Plaatje University’s School of Humanities will host a series of dialogues on South African land, food sovereignty and youth, starting today.
This is the first in a series of dialogues which will take place at the university.
Experts on land and various stakeholders will share ideas and debate the topic of this very sensitive issue.
The keynote address will be by Dr Wallace Amos Mgoqi, who was the former Chief Land Claim Commissioner for the Commission on Restitution of Land Rights. Mgoqi currently holds several positions, including, the Commissioner for Gender Equality, acting Judge and mediator for the Independent Mediation Service of SA.
The respondents will be Bakang Diphokoje (Northern Cape Land Claims), Rob Gibson (ACDP), members of Unashamedly Ethical and speakers from Azapo, the ANC and other political parties.
The dialogues will take place today at 6pm at C016, Central Campus.
Members of the public are invited to attend.
