MEMBERS of the Upington SAPS K9 unit confiscated 30 mandrax tablets that were hidden in a vehicle that was searched in Anton Lobowsky Street in Upington on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Omphile Masegela said the members were conducting routine patrols when they stopped and searched a suspicious-looking vehicle.

“Upon further investigation, with the use of the police dog Canine Tyson, they received a positive reaction from the dog and they conducted a search. Upon searching the vehicle they found 30 mandrax tablets hidden in the car.”

Masegela said a 39-year-old man was arrested and would appear in court on charges of dealing in drugs.
