The Upington police confiscated liquor valued at over R28,000 and arrested two foreign nationals after raiding two shops in Paballelo and Rosedale.
THE UPINGTON Public Order Police confiscated liquor valued at over R28,000 after raiding two shops in Paballelo and Rosedale on Sunday after receiving information regarding the alleged illegal sale of liquor.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Omphile Masegela said two foreign nationals, aged 34 and 38 years old, were arrested after the police searched the premises and found various alcoholic drinks in the shops.
“The suspects were arrested for contravening the Northern Cape Liquor Act and the liquor, with a total value of over R28,000, was confiscated,” said Masegela.
