Upington cops nab woman with ‘bags full of dagga’

THE POLICE confiscated dagga with an estimated street value of R72,460 in Mark Street, Upington, on Sunday.

Upington police spokesperson Omphile Masegela said that members of the Crime Prevention unit arrested a 49-year-old woman on charges of possession of dagga.

A 49-year-old suspect was arrested.

“The police members received information about a woman walking in town with bags allegedly full of dagga. They followed up and found the woman in Mark Street, where they stopped and searched her and confiscated dagga with an estimated street value of R72,460. The suspect is expected to appear in court soon,” said Masegela.
