TWO SUSPECTS were arrested after they were found in possession of suspected stolen property in Prieska.
Police spokesperson Captain Olebogeng Tawana said the suspects, aged 22 and 36 years old, were arrested on March 13.
“The duo was found in possession of suspected stolen property, which was reported stolen from four different residences in Prieska,” said Tawana.
“It is alleged that the duo went on a rampage and broke into houses in Prieska and stole various items from residences.”
Tawana said that members from the Prieska Visible Policing unit reacted to a tip-off regarding the possession of the stolen goods.
“The police caught the suspects red-handed in possession of electric appliances, computers, clothing, groceries, cigarettes and liquor that were reported stolen by four complainants.”
Tawana added that the complainants positively identified their property.
“The suspects are expected to appear in the Prieska Magistrate’s Court on March 16 on a charge of burglary.”
