MEMBERS of the Warrenton Visible Policing unit arrested a suspect after they found dagga hidden in a shallow hole inside a shanty in Sonder Water Street.

Police spokesperson Captain Olebogeng Tawana said the unit members reacted to information regarding alleged drug dealing activities at two premises in Sonder Water and Mathobela streets in Warrenton.

“A suspect, who was found on the premises, was arrested after dagga weighing 2.247 kilograms was found hidden in a shallow hole inside a shanty in Sonder Water Street,” said Tawana.

He added that another suspect was arrested in Mathobela Street after he was also found in possession of dagga.

“Both suspects were expected to appear in the Warrenton Magistrate’s Court on October 17 on a charge of dealing and possession of dagga,” Tawana said.
