THE POLICE confiscated an air rifle and other suspected stolen goods from a house in Proteaville, Nieuwoudtville, following a spate of housebreaking incidents in the area.

Northern Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said on Tuesday that two men were charged with housebreaking and theft after items that were reported as stolen were found at their home on Monday.

Kock said the police searched the house and found a black air rifle, a grinder, flat screen television set and other tools.

“The two suspects were charged and linked to two separate housebreaking and theft charges and are expected to appear in court soon,” Kock added.
