The police said the water pump, which was valued at around R25,000, was found at a scrapyard in Deben, where it had been shredded into pieces.
TWO SUSPECTS were arrested on Tuesday after a 57-year-old farmer in the Deben area reported that his water pump, which was valued at around R25,000, had been stolen.
Northern Cape police spokesperson Captain Mosimaneotsile Letsapa said the water pump was found at a local scrapyard, where it had been shredded into pieces.
“The owner positively identified the property as his and commended the Deben SAPS members for their swift response that led to the apprehension of the suspects and recovery of the stolen property,” said Letsapa.
He added that the two suspects, who are 20 and 25 years old respectively, are expected to appear in the Kathu Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of theft.
