POLICE in Kuruman have launched a manhunt for three men who allegedly raped a woman after they hijacked the vehicle she was travelling in.
According to the police the three men, wearing balaclavas, found the woman and her boyfriend in a Toyota Hilux double cab bakkie in Kuruman at around 9pm on Friday night.
The three suspects started shooting at the couple.
“The man was apparently hit in the leg and the suspects put him in the back of the vehicle before driving to a veld where they allegedly raped the woman.
“They then forced her to drive them to the RDP houses in Seoding village where they got out of the vehicle and fled,” police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Dimakatso Mooi, said.

Meanwhile, police in Kimberley are investigating a case of business burglary following the arrests of three suspects, who allegedly robbed a local motorcycle dealership.
According to the police, the owner of a motorcycle dealership was notified of an alarm activation at his store on August 19 and, upon investigation, found that the display window had been removed. A motorcycle worth R45 000, as well as reflector jackets and helmets worth R20 000, were taken during the incident.
The police were notified and immediately followed the trail of the suspects. Three suspects, aged 32, 33 and 42 years, were later arrested and are expected to appear in court today.
The Modderrivier police have also arrested two suspects, believed to be in their twenties, for business robbery.
According to the police the suspects allegedly entered a local tuck shop on the afternoon of August 17 before fleeing with an undisclosed amount in cash and cigarettes.
