TWO SUSPECTS were arrested by Constable Jefferies and the Bittersoet neighbourhood watch on January 8 when they were found in possession of drugs near the Dutch Reform shacks in Greenpoint.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Dikeledi Gopane said the suspects, who are 24 and 36 years old, were arrested at about 11.30pm on Sunday after the police followed up on information regarding the sale of drugs in the Greenpoint area.

“The men were found with suspected drugs and pokes of dagga and cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug sales,” said Gopane.

“The suspects are expected to appear in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of being in the possession of drugs.”

“The police found a 35-year-old man with 58 small bags of crystal meth, with an estimated street value of R9,000, and cash.”

Gopane said that the suspect was expected to appear in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of dealing in drugs.
