THREE employees of the Northern Cape Provincial Traffic Department have tested positive for Covid-19, resulting in the closure of three stations, including Kimberley.

The stations that are closed are Mothibistad, Springbok and Kimberley.

The spokesperson for the Northern Cape Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison, Rennie Andrias, said on Monday that the stations are expected to reopen on Wednesday.

“The staff who tested positive are in self-quarantine while their closed contacts will be tested and also be required to self-isolate for the required period,” said Andrias.

“The three stations will be closed for deep-cleaning on Monday and the other employees are expected to return to work on Wednesday. The public may divert to other service areas for assistance.”
