THREE men were arrested in Green Street in Kimberley during the early hours of Tuesday morning after they were found in possession of explosives.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Dikeledi Gopane said Sergeant Saunderson and Sergeant Valla, from the Kimberley police station, were patrolling the area at around 3.20am on Tuesday.
“They came across a white Volkswagen Polo in Green Street in West End, where three men who were between the ages of 22 to 33 years old were occupying the vehicle.”
She added that the police searched the vehicle and found an explosive device with different caps, insulation tape, a knife, gloves, balaclavas and two cellphones.
“The men were arrested and detained for possession of explosive devices. They are expected to appear in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Gopane.
