The Northern Cape police are investigating the murder of a 17-year-old girl whose naked body was discovered in the veld near Diepkloof in Olifantshoek.
THE POLICE are investigating the murder of a 17-year-old girl whose naked body was discovered in the veld near Diepkloof in Olifantshoek.
The girl’s body was found by a passer-by, who alerted the police, on Monday at around 1.45pm.
Northern Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said there were bruises on the deceased’s face.
“An autopsy will be done to determine the exact cause of her death,” said Kock.
“The police are requesting the assistance of the public to provide information that could assist in the investigation.”
Kock added that the parents of the deceased, who was identified as Katlego Mere, had last seen her at their home in Olifantshoek on Friday, June 30.
“Anyone with information is requested to call Detective Sergeant Martin Nkatlholang on 082 302 0395. Police investigations continue,” said Kock.
