Tanzanian national arrested in Lerato Park for dagga worth R170k

A Tanzanian national is facing a charge of dealing in dagga after the Kimberley police found dagga with an estimated street value of R170,000 in his possession.

A TANZANIAN national is facing a charge of dealing in dagga after members of the Kimberley Public Order Police unit found dagga with an estimated street value of R170,000 in his possession.

Police spokesperson Captain Olebogeng Tawana said the suspect was arrested during a search-and-seizure operation.

“The Kimberley Public Order Police raided the suspect’s residence in Lerato Park in Roodepan. During the search, members found and confiscated dagga weighing 13.20kg as well as cash believed to be the proceeds of dealing in dagga,” said Tawana.

“The suspect is expected to appear in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of dealing in dagga.”
