THREE men were arrested in Danielskuil after the police found them in possession of 10 kilograms of dagga with an estimated street value of R25,000.

The suspects, aged 22, 32 and 35, were nabbed on Tuesday, January 28, when officers conducting crime prevention patrols noticed a suspicious blue Hyundai Getz.

According to Northern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Timothy Sam, the officers flagged down the vehicle for a routine inspection.

During the search, the police discovered several packages of dagga inside the car. The suspects were arrested and the vehicle was confiscated as it was used in the alleged commission of a crime.

The three men have been charged with illegal possession of dagga and are expected to appear in the Postmasburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, January 29.

ZF Mgcawu district commissioner Major-General Monica Sebili praised the police station’s “Shift C” members for their vigilance in keeping drugs off the streets and ensuring the safety of local communities.
