Suspect nabbed after information received about illicit products to be transported from Kimberley to Upington.
A 36-YEAR-old suspect is expected to appear before the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on Monday for allegedly being in possession of illicit products.
Hawks Northern Cape provincial spokesperson Nomthandazo Mnisi said the suspect was arrested on Friday after information surfaced about illicit products that were supposed to be transported from Kimberley to Upington.
“An intelligence-driven operation was conducted by an integrated police team consisting of the Serious Commercial Crime Investigation, Local Criminal Record Centre and Kimberley Visible policing units,” said Mnisi.
She added that the vehicle was stopped and searched.
“During the search, illicit products including tobacco, baking powders and roll-ons were recovered and the suspect was arrested.”
