A DE AAR-based tyre fitment and repair business, Berreng Tyres, is the proud recipient of De Aar Solar Power’s support as part of the company’s enterprise development accelerator programme.

The business has received equipment and infrastructure that is helping it to provide a professional service to its customers, rendering it a more sustainable and viable entity.

The support from the wind farm will be over a three-year period.

De Aar Solar Power intends to create more jobs and generate a greater income within the SMME’s operation.

The accelerator programme offers training and support to help create viable small businesses and assist budding entrepreneurs, such as Berreng Tyres, in the Pixley ka Seme District’s rural towns of Britstown, Hanover, Philipstown and De Aar.

The owner of Berreng Tyres, Berreng Nkopane, has thus far been provided with a container structure to house his business activities and fencing and equipment, with training and mentorship to follow.

Nkopane expressed his gratitude to De Aar Solar Power for the support and the potential they saw in him.

“Their faith in my vision has given me confidence and has motivated me to keep growing my business. It is also very encouraging to see my business receiving such a positive response from the community,” said Nkopane.

“I hope that other business owners in a similar position can benefit from what De Aar Solar has done for me. It gives me great pleasure to have their backing.”

The economic development specialist for De Aar Solar Power, Zuki Ndlela, lauded Nkopane as a veteran in the industry.

“As an industry veteran of over 20 years, Nkopane has a great passion for the work he does. Despite being unsuccessful in obtaining land for over five years, he still found ways of ensuring that his vision was fulfilled. His drive and determination are admirable, hence our decision to support his enterprise,” said Ndlela.
