Stern lockdown warning for N Cape district

Various stakeholders, such as the police, SANDF, Department of Health, Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison and local government, have been enforcing the regulations in all communities.

THE JOHN Taolo Gaetsewe SAPS cluster commander, Major-General Johan Bean, has issued a stern warning to community members to stay at home and to adhere to the lockdown regulations or face prosecution.  

Northern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Mashay Gamieldien said that since the start of the 21-day lockdown various stakeholders, such as the police, SANDF,  Department of Health, Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison and local government, have been enforcing the regulations in all communities. 

“Streets have been patrolled around the Kathu and Kuruman areas. Furthermore, supermarkets and many more places have been visited by various stakeholders to check on compliance with regard to social distancing, the use of sanitisers and the movement of people,” said Gamieldien.
