St Patrick’s CBC achieves 100 percent matric pass rate

ST PATRICK’S Christian Brothers’ College (CBC) in Kimberley recorded a 100 percent matric pass rate for the Class of 2021, where the group of 40 matriculants achieved 45 distinctions.

The grade average was 64.7 percent, with 82.5 percent of candidates obtaining a bachelor’s degree pass.

The executive head of the school, Craig Neave, indicated that despite the Covid-19 pandemic over the last two years, the Class of 2021 managed to record its 11th consecutive year of achieving a 100 percent pass rate.

“The board of governors, management and staff of St Patrick’s CBC are delighted with the Grade 12 Independent Examination Board (IEB) results that were released on Wednesday,” said Neave.

“We are particularly proud of our top achievers who worked extremely hard to obtain these outstanding results. Thanks must go to all the school staff, but in particular to our high school teachers who sacrificed much of their personal time to assist our pupils.

“We congratulate the Class of 2021 and wish them all the very best in the exciting challenges that lie ahead. I am extremely proud of our achievement and to be able to celebrate these results with our entire school community.”

Neave said that the group of 40 matric pupils achieved 45 A symbols and 66 B symbols.

“We are tremendously proud of these results!”

TOP ACHIEVERS

Tegan Ford achieved an average of 85.14 percent, where she obtained six distinctions – Accounting 89 percent, Mathematics 89 percent, Afrikaans 88 percent, Life Orientation 88 percent, Life Sciences 84 percent, English 81 percent.

Kgothatso Crutse obtained an 82.14 percent average with five distinctions – Mathematics 89 percent, Physical Science 86 percent, Setswana 86 percent, Accounting 83 percent, Life Orientation 82 percent.

Riley Jones obtained an average of 81.57 percent with five distinctions – Mathematics 91 percent, Physical Science 83 percent, Life Sciences 82 percent, English 81 percent, Life orientation 80 percent.

Nathan Misdorp achieved an average of 80.86 percent with three distinctions – Mathematics 90 percent, Accounting 88 percent, Physical Science 81 percent.

David-John Templeton achieved an average of 80.14 percent with five distinctions – Mathematical Literacy 96 percent, Business Studies 86 percent, Dramatic Arts 84 percent, Geography 82 percent, Life Orientation 80 percent.
