THE INFRASTRUCTURE call centre at the Sol Plaatje Municipality is currently being decontaminated after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

Sol Plaatje Municipality spokesperson Thoko Riet said that the call centre was closed on Monday after an employee received positive test results in the morning.

“We will advise the public when the call centre will reopen. All persons who were in close contact with the affected staff member will be in self-isolation,” said Riet.

She said that an alternative number was available for any emergencies.

“Any infrastructure-related complaints must be sent via a text message to 061 049 5443.”

Riet added that the fire station was also closed on Monday after another Covid-19 case was reported.

“Fires will still be attended to,” she said.
