Six to appear in court in R3 million copper cable theft case

ANOTHER woman was arrested in Kimberley on January 24 in connection with the R3 million worth of suspected stolen copper cable.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said five suspects appeared in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on Friday on charges of tampering/destroying/damaging of essential infrastructure, possession of suspected stolen copper and theft.

“The accused – Tumelo Manchona, 34, Ishmael Kamanji, 29, Nkosinathi Mgabhi, 31, Walter Sedibe, 42, and Nosipho Dlongolo, 29, will remain in custody as the case was remanded until February 2 for a formal bail application. The investigation continues,” said Kock.
