SIX SUSPECTS were arrested during an intelligence driven operation in Mothibistad for dealing in dagga.
The John Taolo Gaetsewe Highway Patrol, K9 unit and Crime Intelligence found 70 pokes of dagga with an estimated street value of R700 at a house in Mothibistad.
Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Kock on Thursday said the police arrested two persons and seized R120 cash.
“In a second incident police raided two houses situated behind each other in Mothibistad and discovered dagga with an approximate street value of R45,000.”
He stated that another four suspects were arrested for dealing in dagga.
“The police seized cash amounting to R60,000 that is believed to be the proceeds of the sale of the drugs.”
He added that the suspects were expected to appear in the Kuruman Magistrates Court soon.
“The investigation continues.”
The acting district commander for the John Taolo Gaetsewe district Colonel Mojalefa Nkunika applauded the members for their efforts in eradicating drugs from the streets and for apprehending the drug dealers.
He also commended the community for their assistance in providing information regarding criminal activities in the community.
