CERTAIN sections within the Office of the Premier will be closed after an official tested positive for Covid-19.

The spokesperson for the Office of the Premier, Bronwyn Thomas-Abrahams, said on Thursday that colleagues who were in close contact with the official would self-quarantine for 10 days to ensure that infection is contained.

“The affected offices will be decontaminated,” she said.

“Premier Zamani Saul herewith reminds citizens of the seriousness of the virus and appeals to all to follow all health and hygiene protocols. Citizens must continue to play their part in observing the protocols of washing hands regularly, wearing a mask and practising social distancing.

“The premier also called on the community not to stigmatise people who are infected with Covid-19 but to instead support them.”
