NORTHERN Cape Premier, Dr Zamani Saul will deliver an address at the Robert Sobukwe Hospital and Madoyle Clinic in Galeshewe to celebrate International Women’s Day on Monday March 8.

Manager in the office on the Status of Women, Ellen Laban said Saul would pay tribute to women frontline workers who sacrificed their lives during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Women stand at the front lines of our daily functioning and have continued to do so during the Covid-19 crisis, as health care workers, caregivers, innovators and community organisers to combat the pandemic. The crisis has highlighted both the centrality of their contributions and the disproportionate burdens that women carry.”

Meanwhile the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) in the Northern Cape Province will host a women’s commission at the provincial Salga offices on Monday, March 8.
