SAPS officers awarded medals for decades of dedicated service

A total of 178 SAPS officers and members were awarded medals in recognition of 30, 20, and 10 years of dedicated service during a joint medal parade for the ZF Mgcawu and Namakwa districts.

THE NORTHERN Cape provincial commissioner, Lieutenant-General Koliswa Otola, joined by the deputy provincial commissioner for Crime Detection and acting deputy provincial commissioner for Policing, Major-General Luntu Ngubelanga, and the deputy provincial commissioner for Corporate Services, Major-General Thabo Mphuthi, on Tuesday honoured SAPS members for their loyal service in a joint medal parade for the ZF Mgcawu and Namakwa districts.

Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Cherelle Ehlers said the event took place at the 8 SAI Military Base in Upington and a total of 178 officers and members were awarded medals in recognition of 30, 20, and 10 years of dedicated service.

The event also included the formal conferring of ranks for members promoted as of November 1, 2024.

In her address, Lieutenant-General Otola praised the recipients for their hard work and sacrifices, commending them for embracing new responsibilities and challenges with determination and professionalism.
