The ZF Mgcawu District CPF, the SAPS and KDHT Investments launched a community outreach programme in Riemvasmaak, distributing 100 food hampers to address socio-economic challenges, with Major-General Monica Sebili emphasising collaboration between police, the community, and local stakeholders in the fight against crime.
THE ZF Mgcawu District Community Police Forum (CPF), in collaboration with the SAPS in the Northern Cape and KDHT Investments, recently visited the Riemvasmaak area to support the local community.
Provincial police spokesperson Sergeant Omphile Masegela explained that previous crime intervention efforts by district management in Riemvasmaak revealed challenges stemming from socio-economic issues. In response, the CPF launched a community outreach programme to help address these needs.
As part of the initiative, the SAPS, CPF and KDHT Investments donated 100 food hampers to identified beneficiaries in the Sending and Vredesvallei areas on January 15.
The event was attended by notable figures, including ZFM district commissioner Major-General Monica Sebili and her management team, district CPF chairperson Clement Baai and the local CPF, ward councillor Ethel Vass, and representatives from KDHT Investments, who sponsored the programme
The event began with a devotion and prayer led by Employee Health and Wellness Chaplain Sekopane Mosetlhe and Mario Titus.
In her keynote address, Major-General Sebili emphasised the importance of collaboration, stating: “The police can never work in isolation. For this reason, I am adopting Riemvasmaak to ensure that the relationship between the SAPS, the community through the CPF, local NGOs, and the business sector is strengthened.”
She urged the community to work alongside the police and support one another in the fight against crime.
