Roodepan police seek help with hit-and-run case

The Roodepan police are investigating a hit-and-run incident that took place in Maitland Road.

THE ROODEPAN police are investigating a hit-and-run incident that occurred in Maitland Road, Roodepan, on October 29.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Timothy Sam said the incident took place at around 2.15pm on Sunday.

Sam said preliminary investigations indicate that the victim, 22-year-old Kagisho Bezuidenhout, was walking home with a friend along Maitland Road when a white VW Golf hit him and sped off.

It is believed that the vehicle was “speeding” at the time of the incident.

Sam said the Kimberley emergency services transported the victim to a hospital for medical attention.

Anyone who might have information that may assist the police in tracing the driver of the VW Golf is urged to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Moshupiemang Jimmy Bululu, at 073 533 7146 or 08600 10111.
