Robbers ransack Kimberley SPCA offices

The police are investigating a case of business burglary after robbers ransacked the Kimberley SPCA offices.

THE POLICE are investigating a case of business burglary after robbers ransacked the Kimberley SPCA offices.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Dikeledi Gopane said on Sunday that valuables estimated at more than R90,000 and cash of R4,000 were stolen during the incident.

“The police are investigating a business burglary that took place between Saturday, February 5 and Sunday, February 6. Three offices were broken into and one storeroom, where two laptops, a hard drive and cellphones were stolen, all amounting to the value of R94,870, as well as cash of R4,000,” said Gopane.

She added that no arrests have been made yet.

The Kimberley SPCA, in a statement on social media, said that its offices will be closed for the next two days.

“Our offices will be closed on Monday, February 7 and Tuesday, February 8 in order to allow the police to conduct their investigations and for us to clean the mess that was left behind.

“We will be available for emergencies only and to take in stray animals. We will not be allowing any access for adoptions on those days.
