THE SAPS are offering a R50,000 reward to anyone who can provide them with information that can lead to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators involved in the brutal rape and murder of Tankiso Tawanyane in Roodepan earlier this month.
Tawanyane was buried on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said the Galeshewe SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit is investigating the murder and rape of 34-year-old Tawanyane.
“The incident took place in Lethabo Park, Roodepan, on October 7 at about 8.20pm. The victim was allegedly raped by three unknown men and later set alight with paraffin. She succumbed to her injuries in hospital on October 8,” said Kock.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is requested to contact Detective Warrant Officer Lesego Oliphant on 082 495 4605 or Captain Sebata Tsiu on 082 874 4613.
An SMS can also be sent anonymously to 32211 or on the MySAPS app.
“All information will be treated with the strictest of confidence. The investigation continues,” Kock added.
