SOL PLAATJE Municipality has provided clarity on the picture that was painted when its workers were seen building a driveway in Swanson Road, Riviera, recently.

This is after residents spotted a municipal truck in front of the house and a group of municipal workers repairing the driveway.

A number of residents contacted the DFA and demanded answers. Several wanted to know whether they, as ratepayers, could get the same courtesy service.

Sol Plaatje Municipality spokesperson Thoko Riet explained that the workers were simply replacing the paving in front of the yard after they had to remove it while doing repairs on a burst pipe.

“There was a huge pipe burst in front of the yard, so the workers did a job card by replacing the paving after repairing the pipe,” said Riet.
