A repeat stock theft offender, Gert “Jomo” Isaacs, has been sentenced to two years of direct imprisonment after he was caught red-handed attempting to steal livestock on a farm in the Victoria West area.
A REPEAT stock theft offender, Gert “Jomo” Isaacs, has been sentenced to two years of direct imprisonment after he was caught red-handed attempting to steal livestock on a farm in the Victoria West area.
Northern Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said Isaacs was caught in the act on the farm Kookfontein.
“Isaacs completed a 10-year prison sentence for a previous stock theft offence in 2023 and was once again caught in the act on July 1, 2023, at a farm near Victoria West. The accused was arrested and charged with trespassing under the Stock Theft Act and sentenced on August 5, 2024, to two years direct imprisonment,” said Kock.
“Detective Sergeant Winston Julies from the Stock Theft an Endangered Species unit led the investigation that resulted in the conviction of the repeat stock theft offender.”
