RAPE accused Douglas Mthukwane has been sent for 30 days of forensic observation at the Kimberley Correctional Centre hospital.

Mthukwane appeared in the Northern Cape High Court on Wednesday, where he stands accused of three counts of rape, including an alleged assault on a 14-year-old girl.

He was taken into custody for the duration of his stay at the correctional facility.

Mthukwane objected to the presence of the media in court, referring to them as “pigs”.

In a heated moment, he muttered, “They don’t have news – you pigs – I’ll teach you what journalism is.”

This is a developing story.
