NORTHERN Cape Premier Dr Zamani Saul was involved in an accident involving three cars on the N12 between Jan Kempdorp and Warrenton at around 2pm on Thursday afternoon.

The incident reportedly occurred when the driver of one of the vehicles, an Audi, apparently tried to overtake another car and lost control of the vehicle.

It is believed that the occupants of all three cars were travelling from Kimberley to Hartswater to attend a meeting, where the premier was expected to meet with ANC regional officials from the Phokwane sub-region.

Eyewitnesses indicated that no injuries were reported.

The spokesperson for the Office of the Premier, Bronwyn Thomas-Abrahams, confirmed that an incident occurred involving the premier’s official vehicle on Thursday afternoon.

“The premier was en route to a meeting and no injuries were reported. The premier was not late for the meeting and continued to his scheduled appointment.”
