THE PREMIER of the Northern Cape, Dr Zamani Saul, has extended his condolences for the 11 young men who died in an accident on the N14 outside Kuruman on Sunday.

All the occupants of an Audi and a Volkswagen that collided on Sunday afternoon succumbed to their injuries.

The spokesperson for the Office of the Premier, Bronwyn Thomas-Abrahams, said Saul requested a provincial government delegation, led by the MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison, Nomandla Bloem, to visit the bereaved families and to convey condolences on behalf of the provincial government.

“Provincial government shares in their loss and mourning and will provide further assistance and support to the families,” said Thomas-Abrahams.

Saul appealed to road users to always be safety-conscious and responsible and to observe the rules of the road.

“May the souls of these young men rest in peace,“ he added.
