Post Office worker in court for fraud

A female SA Post Office employee made a brief appearance before the Jan Kempdorp Magistrate’s Court on a fraud charge after allegedly withdrawing a client’s money illegally from a Post Office bank account.

A FEMALE SA Post Office employee, Boichoko Segone, 29, made a brief appearance before the Jan Kempdorp Magistrate’s Court on a fraud charge after allegedly withdrawing a client’s money illegally from a Post Office bank account.

Segone was arrested by the police after the client opened a criminal case.

She was released on bail of R500 and the case was remanded to May 15.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said it is alleged that Segone illegally withdrew the money from a Post Office bank account during September and October 2022.

“The client opened a case in December 2022 and the female was arrested. She appeared briefly in the Jan Kempdorp Magistrate’s Court and received R500 bail,” said Kock.
