Police probing Galeshewe granny’s murder

The Galeshewe police are investigating a murder case following the discovery of the body of a 73-year-old woman in a house in Tshweni Street.

THE GALESHEWE police are investigating a murder case following the discovery of the body of a 73-year-old woman in a house in Tshweni Street, Galeshewe, on February 15.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Timothy Sam said that a neighbour went to the house after noticing a “bad smell”.

“The body of the deceased was found and the police were informed,” said Sam.

The police have requested the public’s assistance in locating 24-year-old Thulani Funapi, who is related to the deceased.

“He might assist the police in the investigation,” said Sam.

Anyone who may have information about the whereabouts of Funapi is urged to contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Garcia Bitterbos, at 082 469 1744 or 08600 10111.

Members of the community can also anonymously SMS to 32211 or use the MySAPS app.

All information will be handled confidentially, said Sam.
