A CRIME awareness campaign was held at a school in Roodepan this week, where school pupils were encouraged to stay away from gangsterism and drugs.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said that Lieutenant-Colonel Lefu Lebakeng addressed 800 pupils on April 5-6 on spiritual crime prevention.

“The Roodepan SAPS partnered with the Prophetic Generation 13, where motivational speaker Denzil Kock educated them on the social ills that are prevalent, such as drugs and gangsterism, in Roodepan and its surrounding areas,” said Kock.

“The spiritual intervention rendered great success and several religious leaders affiliated to the Spiritual Crime Prevention Board also supported the event.”

He added that a community prayer march and other activities will be held in Roodepan on Friday to address moral regeneration and to uplift the youth in the area.
