Police conduct stolen goods operation in Postmasburg area

OPERATION Reject and Report Stolen Goods continued in the greater Postmasburg area on Wednesday and Thursday.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Nomvuyo Makoloi said the operation was conducted through a partnership between Kolomela Mine, ZF Mgcawu District personnel, Provincial Flash and Station Corporate Communication and Danielskuil SAPS at the mine.

“The project concluded with a multi-disciplinary roadblock on the Postmasburg-Kathu road whereby 191 vehicles and 432 persons were stopped and searched,” said Makoloi.

“Pamphlets were also distributed during community interactions.

“Seven fines were issued for various offences amounting to R5,500.”

The team also wished road users a safe journey and shared road safety tips with the motorists.

The police’s efforts were “appreciated and commended” by the mine.
