THE POLICE have closed an inquiry into the death of a 60-year-old city resident who was discovered in the bathtub of his home in Klisserville on the weekend.

Neighbours alerted the police on January 27, at around 11.30pm, after they heard a commotion.

The doors were found to be unlocked, while blood splatters were visible on the walls.

It is believed that the man lived alone in the house.

Paramedics were called to the scene, whereupon the man was declared dead.

Kimberley police spokesperson Captain Tessa Jansen said that there were no visible wounds on the body.

“An inquiry was opened into the death and an autopsy was conducted. The post-mortem results indicate that he died of natural causes and the inquiry was closed. No foul play is suspected,” said Jansen.

She added that there were no signs of a forced entry into the house.
